Make a Difference

Volunteers are crucial to the Center’s success and there are a variety of opportunities when it comes to volunteering. Volunteers are needed to support the professional and clinical staffs, help communicate with all of the Center's many constituencies, encourage and assist with fundraising efforts, participate and help manage special events, and support workshops and other Center activities. If you would like more information on volunteer opportunities please contact the Center.

Administrative Support

Administrative volunteers support our professional and clinical staffs. Duties include welcoming participants and family members to the Center as they arrive, giving tours of the Center to help new participants get acquainted with the facilities, answering phones and directing calls, helping with special communication projects or informational mailings and various other responsibilities. Volunteers are needed during normal office hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and for evening programs hosted at the Cente
r.

Special Events
The Center holds a number of different fundraising events throughout the year including our 5K/10K Run/Walk and Annual Benefit. Volunteers assist in planning, marketing and event mailings. Volunteers are also needed the day of events to help with registration, raffles, and other activities.

Outreach
Outreach initiatives help to eliminate barriers and increase awareness about the Center in the community. Outreach volunteers can support in the following ways:
• Attend health fairs
• Speak to community groups about their experience at the Center
• Staff lobby tables at cancer centers
• Distribute literature to hospitals and medical practices, and in the community
• Assemble bi-monthly calendar mailing
