The Cancer Wellness Center’s lecture and workshop topics provide a wide array of educational and experiential opportunities. We present new topics each quarter to help you and your loved ones become well informed as you navigate a cancer diagnosis. Research has found that actually seeking information increases an individual’s sense of control, improves the ability to make decisions, reduces anxiety and makes communication with healthcare providers easier.
Registration is required for all lectures/workshops. To register and learn more, select a program below.
Living with cancer can create so many stresses, which can in turn compromise immune functioning. In order to address both the physical and emotional components of distress, the Cancer Wellness Center offers evidence-based classes and individual wellness services that have been found to produce a physiological relaxation response.
Participants are able to attend group classes for mind, body and health, which include many disciplines such as yoga and meditation, as well as individual wellness appointments to help manage stress, emotional well-being and the side effects and symptoms of cancer.

This program will explore 15 things you may not have known about the grieving process including grief ’s impact on the mind and body, and how you may be at risk for posttraumatic stress syndrome. Also examined will be tools for coping with grief, how to handle those pesky comments from well-intentioned friends, and warning signs that your grief has turned into something more serious.
