Virtual: Fertility Preservation + Social Support for Young Adults with Blood Cancers
Monday, May 23, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 6:45 pm CDT
Fertility preservation
Preserving fertility is often possible for patients about to undergo treatment. Kristin Smith, a fertility preservation specialist, will discuss the importance of fertility preservation, family building options, and reproductive health after a blood cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Reducing isolation and building community
For adults under 40, social and emotional isolation are often the most difficult aspects of their cancer journey. Chelsea Donahue from Stupid Cancer will discuss the importance of a strong and supportive network of peers and how organizations like Stupid Cancer can help young adults with blood cancer.
The presentations will be followed by a live Q+A. This education program is a joint collaboration between Cancer Wellness Center and the Leukemia Research Foundation.
