  Ashland Avenue\n\nChicago\, IL\n\nResearch demonstrates that outdoor exerc
 ise\, such as hiking\, offers health and well-being benefits. Join us for a
  two-mile hike. We will do an out-and-back hike on the eastern 1 mile of Th
 e 606. This is a paved urban trail with a narrow rubber shoulder on which y
 ou can also walk. Please wear comfortable hiking or running shoes\, bring a
  water bottle\, and dress for the weather.\n\nThe Bloomingdale Trail\, part
  of “The 606” park system\, is a 3-mile\, elevated rail trail on Chicag
 o’s northwest side. Built on a former rail line\, the trail sits 17 feet 
 above four of the city’s neighborhoods.\n\nPresented by: Kimberly Matthew

 icipants.\n\nRSVP below to register.\n\nHike will be canceled in the event 
 of inclement weather.\n\nParking:\n\nWhile there are no designated parking 
 areas for the trail\, street parking is available nearby. Multiple Metra\, 
 CTA train\, and bus routes also have stops close to the trail.\n\nDirection
 s:\n\nTo reach the eastern trailhead at Walsh Playground Park\, take I-90/I
 -94 to Exit 48A for Armitage Ave. Head east on W Armitage Avenue. and trave
 l about 450 feet before turning right onto N Ashland Avenue. After 0.3 mile
 s\, you will see Walsh Playground Park on your right\; look for street park
 ing near the park.\n\nPublic Transportation:\n\nIf you wish to travel by Me
 tra from the Union Pacific-North line\, the Clybourn stop is just a 0.2-mil
 e/4-minute walk to our Eastern Trailhead meeting point. The Metra train arr
 ives at Clybourn at 10:12 and departs at 11:40.
