 tdoor activities like hiking may be beneficial for both physical health and
  mental well-being. Join us for a two mile hike. We will do an out and back
  hike on the eastern 1 mile of “The 606”. This is a paved urban trail w
 ith a narrow rubber shoulder on which you can also walk. Please wear comfor
 table hiking or running shoes\, bring a water bottle and dress for the weat
 her.\n\nThe Bloomingdale Trail\, part of “The 606” park system\, is a 3
 -mile\, elevated rail-trail on Chicago’s northwest side. Built on a forme
 r rail line\, the trail sits 17 feet above four of the city’s neighborhoo

 \nHike will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather.\n\n \n\nParkin
 g:\n\nWhile there are no designated parking areas for the trail\, street pa
 rking is available nearby.\n\nDirections:\n\nTo reach the eastern trailhead
  at Walsh Playground Park\, take I-90/I-94 to Exit 48A for Armitage Ave. He
 ad east on W Armitage Avenue. and travel about 450 feet before turning righ
 t onto N Ashland Avenue. After 0.3 mile\, you will see Walsh Playground Par
 k on your right\; look for street parking near the park.\n\nPublic Transpor
 tation:\n\nMultiple Metra\, CTA train and bus routes have stops close to th
 e trail.\n\nIf you wish to travel by Metra from the Union Pacific-North lin
 e\, the Clybourn stop is just a 0.2mile/4 minute walk to our Eastern Trailh
 ead meeting point. The southbound Metra train arrives Clybourn at 9:46 am 
 and northbound departs at 11:40 am.
