laughing releases serotonin\, which can help your body heal. That’s just
science\, people!\nThis workshop is not group therapy\, but if you feel be
tter about what you’re going through by sharing your experience and laugh
ing about it\, join us in this 8-week workshop.\n\nDuring the workshop\, we
’ll review professional comedians’ sets in which they talk about diffic
ult topics\, including cancer\, and review joke structure and types of joke
 s. You'll have an opportunity to write and practice your own sets while rec
eiving feedback from your peers throughout the workshop to help you hone an
d perfect your set.\n\nFollowing the workshop\, participants will be invite
d (though not required!) to perform their sets at a final event hosted by t
he Cancer Wellness Center at 28 Mile in Highwood on November 11th.\n\nThis
workshop is open to anyone newly diagnosed\, in treatment\, or post-treatme
 nt within 5 years.\n\nProgram dates: Mondays\, September 29\, October 6\, 1
 3\, 20\, 27\, November 3\, 10\n\nFacilitated by: Anne Richardson\n\nLearn m
ore about Anne:\n"In late 2022\, I was diagnosed with HER2+ breast cancer.
2023 was all about cancer treatment. By late summer\, I decided I had plent
y of material to share my experiences\, so I started taking stand-up classe
s at Second City.\n\nSince then\, I’ve also taken classes at The Lincoln
Lodge and performed at class shows and open mics around the city."\n\nPleas
e register below for this in-person series.\n\n***Program is limited to 10
