SUMMARY:When a Parent Dies: A grief group for bereaved spouses and children
DESCRIPTION:The Cancer Wellness Center is offering a weekly family grief pr
 ogram for bereaved spouses and children from February 8th through March 1st
 .  This in-person program will be at the Cancer Wellness Center\, Wednesda
 y evenings at 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm with dinner included.\n\nElyssa Siegel\, CC
 LS\, and Alyssa Friedberg\, MEd\, CCLS\, will facilitate sessions aimed at 
 helping kids cope with their grief after losing a parent. During each sessi
 on we will work on emotional expressive activities and create a community i
 n a safe space to share feelings.\n\nConcurrent sessions for adults will be
  facilitated by Mark Livshots\, MA\, LPC\, and Stephanie Aaron\, MA\, LCSW.
   The group for adults will meet during session 1\, 3\, and 4\, and parent
 s are welcome to stay at the Center to mingle informally with the other gro
 up parents during session 2.  During the sessions\, parents will have the 
 opportunity to come together to connect with other widowed parents to explo
 re and discuss the unique challenges of being a bereaved mother or father\,
  and join with the children at the end to commemorate the completion of the
  program.\n\nWeek 1 - Parent Session and Child Session\n\nWeek 2 - Child se
 ssion\, and parents are encouraged to stay to connect with each other.\n\nW
 eek 3 - Parent Session and Child Session\n\nWeek 4 - A 2-hour Parent Sessi

  the building.
