From the day you received your diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one you have probably traveled through many emotions and thoughts concerning what lies ahead, for yourself and your loved ones.
Through the somatic understanding that your mind affects your body while your body affects your mind we’ll dive into how things such as stress, anxiety, fear, pain and trauma affect you emotionally and physically in often unexpected ways. Ways that affect who you are and how you physically and emotionally feel and experience the world.
Through experimentation, discussion, and play you’ll learn practical Mind/Body approaches designed to be used throughout your day, including gentle movements, body awareness techniques, breathing, meditation, embodiment, the principles of aikido, mindfulness, as well as many other somatic movement & education skills.
