Heidi Brockstein, LCSW
Clinical Associate
As a licensed clinical social worker, my goal is to create a warm and trusting relationship without judgment and one in which clients feel safe to share their thoughts, feelings, and challenges openly. I work from a talk therapy approach that helps address anxiety, fears, depression, and negative thoughts. Mindfulness work always plays an important part of our work together as a tool to help reduce stress and anxiety.
I have several decades of clinical (and practical life) experience and, since January 2020, I have been working with cancer patients and their families, friends or caregivers. In my work apart from cancer, I tend to work from a family systems approach looking at all aspects of people’s lives – family, work, school, friends, and spirituality. I often bring this into my work at the Cancer Wellness Center.
Heidi Brockstein has been a member of the Center’s staff since 2020. She received her MSW from the University of Illinois Chicago’s Jane Addams College of Social Work.
