Mark Livshots, MA, LCPC
Clinical Associate, Men’s Programming Specialist
As a therapist at Cancer Wellness Center, I specialize in working with people affected by cancer – whether you’re facing a diagnosis yourself or supporting someone who is. I have experience working with life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and issues relating to meaning and purpose. I have worked with clients from the point of diagnosis to survivorship, end-of-life and bereavement. I work with adults of all ages, with additional training in working with older adults. Whether it be processing the life changes that cancer has brought on, finding meaning and purpose, or navigating the medical system, I utilize a caring and understanding approach in helping my clients find a way forward.
My approach to clinical work pulls from psychodynamic, existential, and meaning-centered theories, and my clients would describe me as insightful and humorous. In addition to my clinical work, I am an adjunct lecturer at Northwestern University for a class called Designing Your Life, where I help students explore questions around identity, purpose, and the many lives we can create for ourselves. Whether in the classroom or the therapy room, I am interested in your story, how your past shapes your present, and how you are making sense of your experience.
Mark Livshots has been a member of the Center’s staff since 2022. He received his MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University.
