Michele Hernandez, LCSW
Clinical Associate
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a background in hospital settings and school social work, I bring a compassionate and nurturing approach to supporting individuals impacted by cancer. Whether you’re a patient, survivor, or caregiver, my goal is to provide a calm, supportive space where you can process the emotional ups and downs of your experience, no matter how big or small your worries.
Together we will build the strategy that feels right for you. Individual sessions can allow you to process your story and unfold existing strengths. Your strengths can be used to combat the anxiety and sadness that comes along with a cancer diagnosis, whether the diagnosis is yours or that of a loved one.
Couples’ sessions provide mediation for those hard conversations that seem impossible to have. After a diagnosis, your relationships may change. Parenting responsibilities may shift and need to be renegotiated. Working through these conversations takes time, compassion, and guidance. I am also a true believer in group therapy. Support groups are an opportunity for clients to connect with others who are navigating a similar journey, build community, find validation, strength and hope.
