Hiking for Health & Happiness

Research demonstrates that outdoor exercise, such as hiking, offers health and well-being benefits. Join the group for a brief nature meditation followed by a two-mile hike. Please arrive no later than 15 minutes before the indicated start time, wear comfortable hiking or running shoes, bring a water bottle and dress for the weather. The hiking terrain is not paved and we may encounter irregular surface paths – all part of the beauty and joy of the hike! Hike will be cancelled if the weather is uncooperative. Links below provide a trail map for each hike.
Please be prepared to wear a mask and practice social distancing if indicated on the day of the hike. Meet next to the parking lot 15 minutes before the start time.

Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve, 1005 Vattman Rd, Lake Forest, IL
Please see trail map to enter the north parking lot from Sheridan Road. This is the parking lot adjacent to the Fort Sheridan military cemetery. Please note on Apple Maps enter “Fort Sheridan Military Cemetery” to be taken to the correct parking lot. On Google Maps enter ‘Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve” and choose the option on Vattman Road
